Insomnia and I organized all the fabric and sewing notions in my closet. Then we went through the fabric scraps box and found the first thing I ever embroidered (image above). I bought a stitching kit from Sublime Stitches somewhere between 6 or 7 years ago and used it to teach myself how to embroider. I then found some amazing green fabric that wants to be shantung, but it's not, and turned it into a large pouch/clutch for myself. It's a little larger than a standard piece of paper.
I am not sure why I couldn't sleep. Typically, I experience bouts of insomnia when I have something I am worrying about, but there is nothing going on in my world for me to worry about anymore. I took the time to finish the first of the five stockings I am working on for the family.
I got this amazing vintage looking fabric at Joanns a few weeks ago. I bought different fabric for each stocking, and each stocking is about 2 and a half feet tall. I wasn't going to make them this big, but at the request of Momsy, they are that big.
Once I had enough of sewing, Insomnia and I proceeded to surf the internet. I stumbled upon Rydeng's Blog, which I loved. It made me feel like redecorating my house.

I have almost gotten rid of all the hand-me-down furniture I acquired throughout my undergrad years. I have one piece left, a loveseat that my aunt and uncle bought when they got married in like 1988... They gave it to my sister in 1994, who had it upholstered in a very South Beach-type jungle print... Then I got it in 1999 and have since had it re-upholstered... twice... (first in Marimekko floral, and now in candy apple red). This might be the year to let it go. As I was eyeballing some leather chairs at the store the other day... they are pricey, but sexy, and I believe two of them should be mine.

Then I saw this at Rydeng's and I LOVED it. Although, I need sleep to be one of the options to take.

It's been an odd weekend for me. I finished all my work, as in work at school in the form of grading or writing and such, so I had no work to bring home with me. Which is good, because I have been in a bunting craze most of the weekend. I made vintage hankie bunting... then took a gander at making scalloped bunting...
Maybe it's time for a nap now...
