Tell Martha I'm Mad at Her

I was having a tranquil Friday afternoon, wandering around the grocery store when I spotted something out of the corner of my eye...

I dropped my basket of groceries and proceeded to flip through the new Martha Stewart Magazine... Martha's Halloween and Valentine's editions are the only things my life comes to a screeching halt for. I was flipping through the glossy pages of wonderment when I spotted it... the one thing Martha knew would drive me into a wild fit of obsession...

I woke up early this morning and hit up ebay and etsy in search of vintage heart lockets in order to try to re-create this charm bracelet... and as I was clicking and refreshing on a bid like a mad woman, that little voice in my head said... "Kristen, step off... you're out of control." I calmly signed out of my ebay account, stepped away from the computer, and shrieked, because Valentine's Day is in a month!

I gotta get to crafting! I have garlands in mind and handmade cards... I need to get a move on!

I kept thinking about what I would make to send to my family and friends for Valentine's Day, and heart felt items sound good to me... because they will be heart-felt... and hearts made of felt... hee hee!... I am a dork, I know...

I have felt ready for a wreath project which I will share in a few days, but I wanted to share a little round-up of freebies and tutorials that I have been saving for a year.

There is a great felt heart ornament tutorial over at Fave Crafts.

The Purl Bee has instructions for some super adorable heart felt pins.

The following links I stumbled upon solely because of the lovely person behind How About Orange. These are free printable templates for cards and a coffee sleeve!

Get these here.

And these here.

These are so stinking cute, I can't even handle it. They can be found here.

Off to get covered in felt, craft glue, and glitter!

Until next time...

XO -K

Oh I desperately despise that feeling. The "I need it, I need it!" feeling. It eats me alive at times, it haunts me in my dreams. Years later I will find myself mourning over lost ideas of divine objects... that's pathetic and superficial. I am completely aware. But I can't help it. I appreciate beautiful things. That heart bracelet IS beautiful. I understand your slight moment of despair at being unable to find it. Heart felt... now that is just cute. I really do appreciate the pun :) Such cute Valentine's ideas. I love pink and red and hearts... so Valentine's day is right up my alley really. I dare say you feel the same? Have fun creating beautiful things :)

Oooooo... vintage locket charm bracelet... @_@

This sounds like such a fun project! =D I shall add it to my list...

As for "heart-felt" felted hearts... all I can do is giggle. Yes, I'm a dork too... ^-^

Best luck on all your Vday making schemes! =D
