Summer Stitches

There have been so many flowers blooming and trees giving off very fragrant smells of spring and summer. Personally, I love all this sunshine. I let all the bright colors of the flowers and trees around the neighborhood influence the color palette of my latest stitching adventure.
I ordered this sampler from Charlotte Lyons and have been having fun adding my own stitches to it over the weekend.

Hope you have a good Monday!

Until next time!

To miss or not to miss?

It seems that every time I speak with my father, he wants to know what I will miss the most about living in Albuquerque. He'll say, "Krissy, whatcha going to miss the most?" I hadn't really thought about what I would miss the most.

On one of my long walks along the river and acequias with Nick, I decided that this is what I would miss the most.
A few years ago, I realized I was not a city girl. I love being out in the desert and the sun, smelling nothing but the fresh air. I grew up in the rolling hills of Nogales, Arizona and loved running barefoot through the splinters and rocks... I still do. When I moved to Albuquerque, I took to walking by the river. In Southern Arizona, river beds don't exactly overflow with water. Unless it's monsoon season, and even then it's shortly lived. So, the Rio Grande became a little getaway for me.
For now, this is what I will miss the most. The river and the causeways that were created by families who settled here as far back as the 1500's.

Until next time.

Tutorial Tuesdays

Hi everyone! I am really excited to be joining the Feeling Stitchy crew to bring you Tutorial Tuesdays!

Today, you can find my first tutorial available for you to try out, if you wish. I'll be bringing tutorials and tutorial round-ups to the Feeling Stitchy site. Which I am very excited about and looking forward to, oh so much!

This week's tutorial is a coffee press cozy made from a piece of fabric I embroidered and then never knew what to do with.
If you are anything like me, you try out different embroidery stitches and embroider different samplers or patterns and then wonder what to turn them into. I personally love pillows, but I know I can turn my embroidery into other things. My goal is to share fun and creative ideas for what to do with embroidered pieces once we finish them.

I hope you all enjoy!

Please head over to Feeling Stitchy to check out the tutorial for this week!

Until next time!

Something Stitchy

Something fun and exciting is going to be happening in my world soon. It has nothing to do with school or my move back to Tucson, but it has everything to do with embroidery and that makes me a very happy girl!
I stitched this little panel of fabric a while ago, then didn't know what to do with it. Then an idea came to me when I found a call for bloggers on a certain Feeling Stitchy site...
I will be joining a very cool crew of super talented stitchers and crafters in bringing some fun and easy embroidery tutorials to the blogosphere.

Please stay tuned... It will all begin on Tuesday!

Until then!
