Stitching with Studio MME

Have you ever happened upon an embroidery or sewing pattern, or any piece of art that just really speaks to you? When I saw this pattern for Reginald the Hummingbird, destined for a life of flower piracy, created by the very wonderful Megan from Studio MME, it really tugged at my heartstrings. I have a major appreciation for anything and everything that Megan designs.

There is this textured quality that Megan infuses into her patterns and illustrations that gives each image just the right depth and realistic feeling. She's found a way to take a basic running stitch and make it appear to be an elaborate combination of stitches to construct an image. Finished versions of her patterns are just really fantastic to look at... and, if you are anything like me, you'll want to stare at each stitch enjoying the imaginative nature of Megan's designs.

The best part about it, is that she now has embroidery kits with the pattern already printed on fabric! That means you will be able to bring one of her patterns to life with your own imagination and wonderment in each stitch!

If you want monthly inspiration from Megan, check out her embroidery club! You can choose between a 6 or 12-month subscription. A new pattern is sent out each month and all the members of the club get to share their progress in order to inspire and bounce ideas off one another.

If her embroidery wasn't enough of a treat, head over to her shop ASAP! She has illustrations, book marks, AND interchangeable locket necklace sets so you can feature any of her dreamy illustrations on a daily basis.

Head over to the Studio MME site to see everything Megan has been working on. She's inviting you all to rekindle your wonder, and I promise, your imagination will not be disappointed!

Stitched Swans

When I was a girl, my grandmother would always tell me a bedtime story about seven swans. I don't remember the details anymore, but I can still feel that comforting sound of her voice as I dozed off.

I think her story might be the reason why I always loved swans. I find them so beautiful.

I think my love of swans had something to do with the Ugly Duckling, as well. That poor baby swan always broke my heart. I wish I could have had him over for tea to help him feel better.

I sketched and stitched these swans onto brooches and pendants as a way to commemorate my grandmother's swan story.

Now if only I could remember the details of the story. I'll have to ask my sister if she remembers.

Please stop by my shop if you would like to pick up a brooch or pendant.
